“her light”

An ikebana-inspired floral installation designed for a live event celebrating the campus co-op community: a quiet way of honoring the people who make shared living feel like home. Designed for a communal gathering, this arrangement invites pause, warmth, and togetherness within a space that shapes students' daily lives.

Using lavender stock, allium, anthurium, scabiosa, and amaranthus, the composition embraces asymmetry and negative space, allowing each element to exist in conversation with the others. No single stem dominates; instead, the arrangement relies on balance and mutual support, reflecting the values of co-operative living.

Grounded in a simple vessel with a moss base, the piece feels both intentional and approachable. It is meant to be encountered close-up, not just admired from a distance, and demonstrates how thoughtful material choices and gentle design decisions can foster belonging, presence, and shared care.
